About
Sat 30 Jan | 8pm | £14 A programme of remarkable depth and imagination, featuring music by Chopin, Phillip Hammond, and Bach. Chopin's late Mazurkas, Op. 59, reflects themes of memory, longing, and national identity, while Phillip Hammond's atmospheric ‘...this hour of quiet...’ creates a moment of contemplation through silence and resonance. The recital culminates in Bach's Goldberg Variations, a masterpiece of keyboard literature whose thirty variations transform a simple musical idea into a work of extraordinary beauty, ingenuity, and emotional range.
