About
Revolting People: Ulster Scots and the Birth of America The story of the Ulster Scots emigration across the Atlantic is an epic story of endurance and fortitude. It is the story of formative years and a tenacity which brought the United States into being. Horace Walpole famously told the Commons that ‘Our American cousin has ran off with the Presbyterian parson’. At the forefront of the Revolution and at the vanguard of the development of the United States in its early years, this the story of the Ulster Scots or, as they became in America, the Scotch-Irish.
