About
Experience the entrancing rhythms of Senegal’s legendary dance band. Orchestra Baobab began as a house band at Dakar’s Baobab Club in 1970 and went on to become Senegal’s most popular band. They had huge success across Africa before breaking up in 1987. Nick Gold, owner of World Circuit records, and the man who reunited Buena Vista Social Club, reissued Orchestra Baobab’s debut album Pirates Choice, sparking new love for their irresistible blend of Cuban and African grooves.
