About
For the second concert in the Spotlight Chamber Music Series, the renowned Cassiopeia Winds will present an eclectic programme of works for wind quintet. Written in 1930, French composer Jacques Ibert’s only work for wind quintet, his good-humoured and colourful Three Short Pieces ( Allegro, Andante and Assez lent – Allegro Scherzando ), will open the recital. This will be followed by Giuseppe Cambini’s third and final wind quintet, which was composed in 1802, comprising two sonata form movements ( Allegro maestoso and Larghetto sostenuto ) and a Rondo ( Allegro con brio ) finale.
