This is an animated film aimed at older audiences and not suitable for children. In 1970s Australia, snail-obsessed Grace lives in a shabby apartment with her pyromaniac twin brother Gilbert and their ailing father. When their father dies, the twins are separated and sent to foster families on opposite sides of the country. As the years pass and each sibling endures a gruelling series of tragedies, disappointments and hardships, they dream of one day being reunited.
