About
Af Klint’s art was profoundly informed by spirituality and her explorations of Rosicrucianism, Theosophy, and Anthroposophy. Like many artists of her time, she sought to make sense of and articulate the modern world. Hilma af Klint’s spiritual paintings were seldom shown beyond her close circle. Her work remained in storage until the 1980s, largely unknown outside Sweden. This show explores the time and place that shaped her unique artistic vision. Organised in collaboration with The Hilma af Klint Foundation.
