About
In this funny and entertaining show, we see Swift during his time as a press advisor to Robert Harley’s London government (1711-1714); his ‘banishment’ to Dublin as Dean in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin (1713); his A Modest Proposal satire that called for the eating of Irish children; his political agitation in Dublin; and the secret publication of Gulliver’s Travels (1726) which was an instant success, but was so controversial that it was never published under Swift’s name while he was alive. Written by Gerry Mullins for the Jonathan Swift Festival & 300 years of Gulliver’s Travels.
