Kyperounta, one of Cyprus’ most important apple-growing villages, celebrates its annual Apple Festival, highlighting the village’s rich agricultural tradition and local apple production. The village produces around one third of Cyprus’ apples and pears and is home to the indigenous apple varieties “Kathista” and “Lortika”. The festival includes presentations of apple varieties grown in Cyprus, an apple-themed photo exhibition, a display of traditional farming tools and a tasting competition featuring apples as the main ingredient.
