About
As part of German Week Melbourne, join NGV curator Dr Petra Kayser for a rare behind-the-scenes look at highlights from the National Gallery of Victoria’s collection of Albrecht Dürer prints. Described as a ‘one-man Renaissance’, Dürer was a painter, printmaker, publisher and theoretician, whose work revolutionised artistic practice in Germany 500 years ago. His woodcuts and engravings were sold throughout Europe, and by the time he was in his early thirties, he was internationally admired for his extraordinary imagination, innovation and technical mastery.
