About
Kokoro Kimura and Camille Laddawan each push their practices beyond conventional media. Tokyo, Japan based, Kokoro Kimura's practice looks at painting and the extension beyond traditional modes. She sees landscapes, furniture, and living things as 'already a painting'. Working with paper, fabric, ceramics, and wood, she creates installations that respond to windows, architecture, and wallpaper, treating the space itself as part of the 'painting'. Camille Laddawan, based in Naarm/Melbourne, makes beaded works inscribed with text and music notation in a visual code.
