About
It starts with a drumbeat. Someone draws a line in the sand. Soon there’s a whole crowd. Powerline is a kinetic public performance by award-winning Rawcus and South Gippsland’s (it’s no) drama created in collaboration with musician Zachary Pidd. A large ensemble climbs, crowds, dances, bends and breaks the rules, driven by a live percussive score. The line becomes a journey, a party, a game, a place of resistance and rupture. But what happens when the structures that hold us together also constrain us? Powerline is a playful and poetic exploration of community, power and freedom.
