Privacy

eventula is a map of public events in Dalmatia. There are no accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell about you.
What we collect
Almost nothing. Specifically:
- Your approximate location — only if you allow it, and it never leaves your device. When the map loads, your browser may ask permission to share your position so the map can centre on you. If you agree, the coordinates are used in your browser to choose the map centre and sort events by distance. They are not sent to our servers, not stored, and not logged. If you refuse, the map simply centres on Split.
- A theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the page doesn’t flash on your next visit. It is not a cookie, contains no identifier, and never reaches us.
- Ordinary server logs. Like any website, requests reach our host with an IP address and browser user-agent. We do not use these to identify or track visitors.
We do not use cookies for visitors. The only cookie this site sets is a login cookie for the operator’s own moderation page, which visitors never see.
Who else is involved
Running the site necessarily involves a few other companies:
- Vercel — hosting. Serves the pages and keeps standard request logs.
- Supabase — the database. It stores the event listings themselves. It holds no visitor data.
- CARTO and OpenStreetMap — map imagery. Your browser fetches map tiles directly from CARTO, so your IP address is visible to them, exactly as it would be with any map on the web.
- Google Maps — only if you click a “Directions” link. That opens Google Maps with the event’s coordinates as the destination, and their privacy policy applies from that point.
Event information
Event listings are collected from publicly published sources — tourist board calendars and similar public pages — and may include the name of a venue or an organiser. That is information those organisations have already published themselves. If you are named in a listing and would like it corrected or removed, email us and we will do it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to a supervisory authority. In Ireland that is the Data Protection Commission. In practice we hold no personal data about visitors, so in most cases the honest answer to a request will be that there is nothing on file.
