About
SHAMTOWN - A Music Show Adapted from songs by Davy Carton and Leo Moran Director Andrew Flynn Written by Ollie Jennings Featuring songs by Paul Cunniffe & Padraig Stevens Tuam was always a town bursting with music and craic. In the 1960’s, there were three showbands operating out of the Ballygaddy Road. Blaze X brought punk to Tuam, rocking a packed Scout Hall. But by the 1980s, recession had hit hard. The sugar factory closed, dole queues grew, and many took the magic bus out of town in search of something better.
